I was a good mum. I fed my kid lots of whole grain foods, fruits, veges and some meat, cheese and treats. I cut down on the fat. I gave them pasta and rice dishes.

Being consistent, I ate the same foods. And I went from having a nice, slim, sexy body to living in a fat, tired, obese body. My kids were fine - they were very active and, as many children do, had a fast metabolism that coped with the high starch diet. But I was setting them up for a lifetime struggle with weight and heart disease, just like I am suffering now.

As many people did, I heard about the Atkins diet many years ago, but it was widely criticized by health experts and I did not seriously attempt to follow it.

That was then. This is now.

NOW I know that a high fat low carbohydrate diet is actually the healthiest diet you can follow. I know that grains (especially wheat products) caused my upset tummy, and that the lies behind the low fat high carb diet advice was driven by well meaning but non-scientific fanatics.

So I have gone out and found a whole bunch of books and videos that tell the truth. They are all part of a NEW FOOD REVOLUTION and I will be reviewing them on this page so you can choose to educate yourself too! You are fully responsible for your own health and well-being. Make sure you know what you are doing to your body with everything you eat and drink.
